Fire safety work at Flemish Cultural Centre De Brakke Grond in Amsterdam
In the heart of Amsterdam, just 50 meters from Dam Square, BVT is carrying out fire safety works at Flemish Cultural Centre De Brakke Grond. This distinctive building at Nes 45 is a place where culture, art and social interaction come together and therefore requires a safe and reliable fire preventive finish.
Work in progress
Commissioned by the Flemish Government, we are responsible for sealing all penetrations in the building to ensure fire and smoke resistance. In addition, all escape routes have been made smoke safe and fire safe, allowing visitors and staff to leave the building safely in the event of an emergency.
What exactly are we doing here
- Our activities include
- Sealing pipes, cables and ducts where they pass through fire rated separations
- Restoring existing details to meet current fire safety standards
- Ensuring safe and accessible escape routes by applying additional smoke tight solutions
Custom solutions for a cultural building in the city centre
Working in a monumental and heavily visited building in the Amsterdam city centre requires precision and custom solutions. Every penetration has been carefully inspected and treated, with minimal disruption to the daily activities within the cultural centre.
