Project in progress: Fire safety works on the university campus in Enschede
At the university campus in Enschede, BVT is responsible for the fire-resistant finishing of several student apartment buildings. These buildings are occupied by students and staff, requiring a high standard of fire safety.
Multiple buildings completed, more underway
We have already carried out the necessary fire safety measures in several residential buildings and are currently completing additional buildings on the campus.
What exactly are we doing here?
In these residential complexes, we ensure:
- Fire-resistant sealing of all penetrations through fire-rated separations, including pipes, cables and ventilation ducts
- Installation and certification of butterfly dampers
- Adjusting or lowering fire separations where existing structures do not align with the current layout, always ensuring a safe and compliant solution
- Completing a Digital Logbook for each building to map penetrations and deficiencies, which is necessary for future inspections and to demonstrate compliance with safety standards
Custom solutions on site
On location, it is clear that tailored solutions are required to achieve correct and fire-safe results. An example visible in the photos shows a fire separation deliberately lowered to preserve its integrity.
